This was a great read and it sounds like a great race. I loved hearing about your nostalgia while running. I can’t say I ever felt nostalgia during any races, but I feel it very strongly when I ride or run on an old training route.

LOVED LOVED LOVED your vivid descriptions and the fact that you couldn't stop smiling until the very end! (I'm pretty sure I had major Resting Bitch Face, or more accurately Tired Bitch Face, after mile 18 of the one and only marathon I ever ran). Your joy makes me *almost* want to run another one. Almost. :-)

Regardless, I'll be cheering for you to come back to do another NYC Marathon (and the World Majors!)
